Six Manipuris listed for International Award

Imphal, April 19 2025: In recognition of their services for the welfare of the people, six Manipuris have been listed for International Icon Award, 2025.In a release, Trikon for World Foundation Manipur State chairman Dr Phanjoubam Lanajit Singh informed that Laimayum Subharani Devi (writer) of Singjamei Chirom Leikai will be conferred with Bharat Ratna Dr Bhupen Hazarika International Icon Award, 2025; Indo Nepal Friendship International Icon Award, 2025 to Kshetrimayum Laiba Meitei (Humanity service) of Lamdeng Khunou, Lamshang; Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar International Icon Award, 2025 to Thounaojam Romen Singh (social work) of Singjamei Thongam Leikai and Khaidem Kalachand (social work) of Thangmeiband Khomdram Selungba Leikai; Dr APJ Abdul Kalam International Icon Award, 2025 to Wangkheirakpam Shreeman Singh (social work) of Nongmeibung Wangkheirakpa Leikai and Life Time Achievement International Icon Award, 2025 to Kakchingtabam Sumati Devi (nursing profession) of Keishamthong Laishom Leirak.

The awards will be distributed during Trikon for World Foundation International conference to be held in Kathmandu, Nepal on May 12, the release added.
