Imphal, August 18 2024: All Manipur Body Builders' Association (AMBBA) president N Ratan has warned pharmacies, whole-sale medical stores and fitness centres (gyms) to stop selling/prescribing Mephenteramine injection to body builders.

Speaking during felicitation of eight-time world champion Arambam Bobby, who recently received the first Presidential Gold Order, at Manipur Olympic Association conference hall on Sunday, N Ratan cautioned that budding bodybuilders of the state are misusing Mephenteramine injection to boost their stamina and muscle build up, seemingly unaware of the fact that use of the said injection is addictive, as could be comprehended from many seeking rehabilitation, others involved in creating unwanted scenes at home or affecting personal lives.

Hence, pharmacies, wholesale medical stores and fitness centres should immediately cease unauthorised sale of Mephenteramine injection, to avoid facing legal action from the Association, he warned.

The AMBBA president also termed as proud moment for all that the first Presidential Gold Order was conferred on A Bobby by World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation (WBPF) in Indonesia on August 9.The felicitation programme was also attended by COMET managing director Irom Umakanta and 1st MR commandant Dr S Ibomcha as chief guest and special guest respectively.
