Meritorious students of Keirak area feted

Meritorious students of Keirak area who have achieved high grades in the central and state board exams were felicitated during a function organised by Keirak United Development Association (KUDA) at Keirak Keithel Lampak Community Hall, on Sunday.
Position holders and students who have received high grades in the recently declared Higher Secondary Examination conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur, High School Leaving Certificate Examination conducted by Board of Secondary Education Manipur, and class X and XII examinations conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education, were felicitated during the function.
The function was attended by Manipur Pollution Control Board chairman and Wabagai MLA Dr Usham Deben, Keirak Wabagai Zilla Parishad administrative committee member Salam Dhanabir Luwang, Keirak Gram Panchayat pradhan Elangbam Shanti Leima and Keirak United Development Association president Leitan-them Chandrakumar Meitei as presidium members.
During the event Science stream 14th position holder in the Higher Secondary Examination 2024 Menaka Huidrom of Keirak Khongnang Leikai, 18th position holder Elangbam Pamheiba Meitei of Wabagai Kadajit Maning Leikai were provided an incentive award of Rs 1 lakh each while Khon-dram Johnson who achieved a score of 610 marks in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by National Testing Agency was handed over a cash prize of Rs 50000 by MLA Usham Deben.
Top achievers of Keirak area in the Higher Secondary Examination and High School Leaving Certificate Examination, as well as in the class X and XII examination conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education were also awarded with cash prize.
These awards were sponsored by MLA Dr Usham Deben, Keirak Wabagai Zilla Parishad administrative committee member Salam Dhanabir Luwang and Keirak Gram Panchayat pradhan Elangbam Shanti Leima.
Speaking at the occasion, MLA Deben said that he has consistently supported and encouraged students from his constituency who excel in the Class X and XII examinations.
This year, three students from his constituency achieved high positions in the Class XII examination.
As a token of encouragement, each of them will receive Rs 1 lakh.
Additionally, Khondram Johnson, who scored 610 marks in NEET, will also be awarded a cash prize of Rs 50000.MLA Deben also urged KUDA to initiate free coaching classes for students and assured them of his financial support for the coaching program.
