Drugs worth ₹2 crore seized, destroyed

Imphal, December 16 2024: A joint team of village volunteers and members of Youth Anti-Drug Association (YADA) recovered Spasmo Proxyvon (SP) tablets estimated to worth nearly Rs 2 crore from a location in Kshetrigao assembly constituency in Imphal East district and consigned the same to flames.

Upon getting specific information about presence of some drug smugglers in Kshetrigao area, a joint team of village volunteers and YADA members conducted raids and apprehended some drug users.

The joint team identified the drug supplier during questioning of the nabbed drug pushers and accordingly seized huge SP tablets.

In further raids, the joint team nabbed some drug smugglers and users.

Meanwhile, YADA secretary Yumkhaibam Nazaqat informed the media that the association has been launching drives to uproot drugs from the society and recovered drugs and intoxicants.

He appealed people to extend support to anti-drug drives being launched by village volunteers and YADA .
