MHRC chairperson inspects Forensic Science facility

Imphal, August 14 2024:
Manipur Human Rights Commission (MHRC) chairperson Justice Utpalendu Bikas Saha inspected Directorate of Forensic Science located at Pangei on Wednesday.
Speaking in this regard, Justice Saha pointed out that several cases are found where justice was not served timely while stressing the need for swift delivery of justice as 'justice' is the right of every individual.
Stating that the law of the land is to protect the people and ensure justice to them, he asserted that prompt delivery of justice is a reflection of the government's effectiveness.
Several cases are found pending and subsequently police stations were also inspected, he informed, while explaining that the Forensic Science trip is continuation of his visits.
He also urged departments concerned to fill up the gaps so as to ensure speedy justice.
Reflecting on incidents and violence since May 3, 2023, he appealed all to refrain from incitive narratives and politicising the crisis while stressing the need to move towards restoration of peace and normalcy.
War of words among one another will never bring a solution, he cautioned.
The inspection visit also included MHRC member Kangjam Khagendra, law officer Wareppam Basantakumar and other members of the commission.
