MCPCR team visits bereaved family in Tronglaobi

Moirang, April 13 2026: A team of the Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR), led by its Chairperson Keisham Pradip Kumar, visited the residence of the two deceased children at Tronglaobi to enquire into the April 7 bomb attack that brutally killed the children and injured their mother.

Speaking to media persons during the visit, MCPCR Chairperson Keisham Pradip Kumar stated that the Commission has issued two notices in connection with the Tronglaobi incident.

The first notice Calls for the immediate arrest of the perpetrators involved in the bomb attack and urges authorities to further strengthen protection mechanisms for children.

The second notice pertains to social media conduct, directing that disturbing images of the two deceased children should not be uploaded or circulated.

It also calls for the removal of all such images that had already been shared online.

He clarified that the Commission does not restrict the sharing of factual and legitimate reports regarding the incident on social media.

However, it strongly opposes the circulation of disturbing images of the deceased children, stating that such content can cause further distress and emotional harm to the bereaved family.

Additionally, the Chairperson noted that merely stating that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is investigating the case is not sufficient.

He emphasised that the Commission must be kept informed about the progress and current status of the investigation.

The visit and subsequent actions by MCPCR highlight the need for both accountability in the case and sensitivity in the handling of content related to the tragic incident.
