Imphal, July 11 2026: The All India Kishan Sabha (AIKS) has announced that fanners across the country will stage protest rallies on July 15 under the slogan 'Save Manipur, Save People, Save Women, Children and Farmers, Restore Peace & Normalcy'.

In Manipur, the protest will be led by Manipur Loumi Lup (MLL).

Speaking to reporters at Irawat Bhavan, Imphal today, MLL president N Singhajit said the decision was taken during the AIKS National Council meeting held in Bodh Gaya, Bihar on June 11 and 12.As part of the protest, memorandums addressed to the President of India through Chief Ministers will be submitted in all States and Districts.

Singhajit said the Central Government had announced a relief package of Rs 38 crore for farmers affected by floods in Manipur, but only Rs 18 crore in the first installment has been released so far.

He urged the Centre to release the remaining amount immediately.

He also highlighted that dams and canals in the State are non-functional.

With deficient rainfall this year, farmers are facing severe difficulties in paddy cultivation.

The Government must act on its earlier assurances to address the crisis, he added.
