COCOMI women's wing plans Jiribam trip

A five-member delegation of women's wing of Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) will be visiting Jiribam soon to forge unity among the indigenous people of Manipur and collectively fight the Kuki narco-terrorists.
Informing this to media persons at its Lamphelpat office on Sunday, women's wing assistant coordinator Tharaksana rued failure of both state and central governments to end the conflict started by the Kukis on May 3, 2023.Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke on the Manipur crisis for the first time only recently in the 18th Lok Sabha but gave no indication of ending the war.
As the conflict lingers and with no sign of when peace will return, people have lost faith in both the state and central governments, she maintained.
While expressing that to neutralise the threat posed by Kuki narco-terrorists, the indigenous people of Manipur shall have to prepare for self-defence, the assistant coordinator said the COCOMI women's wing will head to Jiribam to bring together all the indigenous people and fight unitedly against the Kukis, adding the functionaries of COCOMI and leaders of five women's organisations will be part of the delegation.
According to Tharaksana, the wing delegation will meet leaders of different indigenous communities settling in Jiribam and chalked out strategies to tackle the war being waged by Kukis.
She also said that there is no normalcy as Kuki narco-terrorists continue to torch Meetei houses in Jiribam.
