VKSV campaign empowers Tmlg, Money farmers

Imphal, June 05 2025:
As part of the ongoing nationwide Pre-Kharif Campaign, "Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan", ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Tamenglong, under the ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre, continued its outreach activities to empower farmers across Tamenglong and Noney districts.
Held in convergence with ICAR Complex Lamphelpat, Central Agricultural University (CAU) Imphal, and others, the campaign aims to raise awareness among farmers on government schemes, modern agricultural practices, natural farming, soil health management and climate-resilient farming techniques.

Despite challenging Weather conditions, the campaign has reached more than 5,827 farmers (3,117 men and 2,710 women) across 63 villages in both districts over the past seven days.
Farmers actively participated in interactive sessions, shared their experiences and discussed challenges and success stories, fostering a sense of collective growth and knowledge-sharing.
Resource persons who took part in the programme included Dr Arati N (Senior Scientist, Entomology) and Dr Langlentombi (Scientist, Agroforestry) from ICAR RC for NEHR Manipur Centre, and Dr Manoranjan Biswal (Assistant Professor, Plant Breeding & Genetics) from the College of Agriculture, CAU Imphal.
The programme was held under the guidance of Dr H Lembisana Devi, senior scientist and head of ICAR-KVK Tamenglong.
In addition to the ongoing campaign, KVK Tamenglong also observed World Environment Day 2025 under the global theme "Beat Plastic Pollution" during which tree saplings were planted to promote afforestation and raise awareness about environmental conservation.
Experts conducted sessions on climate change adaptation, stressing the role of farmers in protecting the environment and the significance of agroforestry in rehabilitating degraded lands.
The programme was also attended by local farmers, leaders and agricultural experts.
Critical agricultural inputs including seeds, sticky traps and botanical formulations supported by Green Biotech Eco Solutions Pvt.
Ltd.
were distributed to farmers, along with information leaflets and handouts on various government schemes.
