ITLF announces burial programme for 10 killed in Jiribam

The 10 "tribal volunteers" killed by CRPF in Jiribam, along with two others who died during a gun battle, whose bodies are in the Churachandpur District Hospital's morgue, will be laid to rest on December 5, according to a press release issued by the Indigenous Tribal Leaders' Forum (ITLF).
In a public notice issued on Saturday, ITLF informed that it held an emergency meeting to discuss matters related to the "martyrs" who were recently killed in Jiribam.
Various resolutions were adopted, including the acceptance of the post-mortem results verified by forensic and legal experts and the initiation of further legal proceedings by ITLF Legal Cell and HSA.
It was also resolved to hold a condolence programme at Peace Ground in Tuibuong.
Other resolutions include conducting the final homecoming of the "martyrs", to be performed by their families on the afternoon of December 4.A massive silent rally will also be held on the day of the burial.
It was decided to carry the bodies from Ngurte to the Public Ground, Hiang-tam Lamka, Churachandpur district, where they will be received by the people.
Following this, the bodies will be transported to the Peace Ground in a silent rally.
