Senapati, July 31 2025:
A one-day teachers' training workshop under the theme 'Understanding the child: Psychological well-being and creative pedagogy in practice' was held Thursday at Springfield Academy, here.
The workshop jointly organised by INCLINE Foundation (Indigenous Centre for Livelihoods, Innovation and Enterprise) and Springfield Academy brought together educators committed to rethinking on how they understand and engage with children in the classroom.
The workshop was designed to strengthen teachers' understanding of children's emotional and psychological development apart from offering hands-on strategies for more creative, inclusive and responsive teaching especially in early and primary education.
Clinical psychologist Paulina Paveine of District Mental Health Programme (DMHP), Senapati and assistant professor Dr Dominic Leo Thaikho of INCLINE Foundation were resource persons of the workshop, during which teachers participated in group activities, reflective sharing and problem-solving exercises.
For many teachers, the workshop felt like a breath of fresh air and they opened up conversation on mental health, inclusive education and the importance of creativity in classrooms.
Teachers left not only with practical tools but with a renewed sense of purpose after the workshop.
