Imphal, September 29 2026: World Heart Day was observed at Khundrakpam Makha Leikai Community Hall today jointly organised by Senior Citizen Society and Health Worker Association, Khundrakpam AC.

The programme was graced by dignitaries, including Health Worker Association advisor Kangabam Inaoba Singh, Senior Citizen Society president Khangembam Rajendro Singh, Sarswati College Pangei chairman Dr Ksh Kala Singh.

A 10-pOint pledge for a healthy heart was taken, including healthy diet avoiding tobacco, regular BP, sugar and cholesterol check, daily exercise, stress-free living, 7-8 hours sleep and early consultation for chest pain.

Dr Kala said heart disease is rising in Manipur, even among 20-year-olds, and urged preventive check-ups.

The event was sponsored by Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Pvt Ltd.
