Imphal, June 24 2026:
Focusing on human resource development and youth empowerment, Assam Rifles carried out two key initiatives in Manipur on Wednesday to strengthen academic infrastructure and provide vocational exposure.
In Chandel district, officials distributed whiteboards and essential learning aids to several schools in the remote Khengjoi sub-division.
As per a release issued by HQ IGAR(South), the effort aimed to upgrade foundational infrastructure in border villages.
An interactive seminar was also held on the role of quality education in empowering remote communities, reducing social disparities, and promoting stability.
Around 40 villagers and local authorities attended and expressed gratitude for the continued welfare support.
Separately, Assam Rifles hosted a weapon display programme for NCC cadets at Mantripukhri Garrison, Imphal.
About 380 cadets from the 14 NCC Battalion and 65 Girls NCC Battalion participated, guided by 10 Army personnel and instructors.
Conducted in a secure setting, the technical exhibition familiarised cadets with various service weapons, their operational roles, capabilities, and handling protocols.
The hands-on exposure sparked career aspirations among the youth and reinforced ties between the armed forces and the student community.
