Jananeta Irabot memorial programmes organised

Kakching, September 23 2024: As part of month-long observance of 129th birth anniversary of Jana Neta Hijam Irabot from September 1, Irabot Celebration Committee, Kakching organised a Jananeta Hijam Irabot memorial programme at Library and Information Centre auditorium, Kakching Phoushupat Leikai on Sunday.

The programme held under the theme 'Manipur Imagi Apunbagi Shaktam Ngakpa Iha' was attended by ex-minister Thokchom Tomba; Irabot Celebration Committee, Manipur chairman & CPI National Control Commission member ex-minister Dr Moirangthem Nara; CPI Manipur secretary L Thoiren; Irabot Celebration Committee, Kakching chairman Yambem Satya Singh; and CPI Kakching senior leaders Mayanglambam Iboyaima and Yengkhom Dhananjay as members on the dais.

As a part of the event, floral tributes were paid to the photos of Jananeta Irabot and departed members of CPI Kakching along with presentation of gifts to their family members.

Meanwhile, Khorirol Sandoklup, Wangjing; Manipuri Sahitya Parishad Thoubal District, Wangjing Unit, and Ningol Khut, Manipur Wangjing jointly observed 129th birth anniversary of 'Meeyamgi Luchingba' Hijam Irabot at 'Khorirol Shanglen, Wangjing on Sunday with Sahitya Yok-khat Kanglup, Tentha president Kartik Maiba as chief guest, Khorirol Sandoklup, Wangjing president Tongbram Babulal as president and Ningol Khut Manipur, Wangjing president Khundongbam Gunamani Leima as guest as honour.

Paying of floral tributes to Lamyanba Irabot and discussion on his life and work marked the programme held with associate professor Shengoi Sanasam and Abujam Nongpok Ningthou as resource persons.

Later, a poetry anthology 'Karamba Lamdamno' written by Laishram Shyamo was released followed by poetry recitation participated by 30 poets.
