Imphal, April 23 2025:
Under the aegis of Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission (MSRLM), Malem Leisana VLF, in collaboration with Thoungambi Women Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited, organised a 'Back to School' campaign at Srivan Higher Secondary School, Luwangshangbam, under Heingang CD Block on Wednesday.
Speaking in connection with the event, Malem Leisana VLF president Haorongbam Prabhapati informed that campaign aims to enhance knowledge base of self-help group members.
She highlighted that the insights shared by the resource persons should be taken forward by the members to help bring about meaningful development in their villages.
Prabhapati further noted that true societal progress cannot be achieved through the development of men alone, but womenfolk must also be aware of and understand the benefits of various government schemes.
"This is where the true significance of the campaign lies," she stressed.
MSRLM, Imphal East district mission manager N Basanta informed that the campaign was launched by MSRLM in 2018 after signing an MoU with the National Research Organisation, Kudumbashree, Kerala.
"The campaign strives to enlighten how women can be made equal in the society and is, thus, being organised back to back by MSRLM in collaboration with cluster blocks," he said.
It may be mentioned that the "Back to School" campaign was launched in Imphal East district on April 17, and the Wednesday's event marked the fourth campaign so far.
The campaign is scheduled to be conducted across all 160 existing Village Level Federations (VLFs) in Imphal East.
