Kavya Manch holds 28th Kavi Sammelan

Imphal, August 22 2026: Mahila Kavya Manch, Manipur organised its 28 th Kavi Sammelan at Dosuyali Hall, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Leikai on Saturday.

The event was graced by Dr Laishram Basanti Devi, former Principal of Standard College, Kongba, as chief guest and Thokchom Renu Devi, former Headmistress of Singjamei Chingamakha High School, as guest of honour.

Mahila Kavya Manch, Manipur president Dr Kshetrimayum Subadani Devi presided over the function.

Vice president of Progressive Writers Association, Manipur, Nirmala Rajkumari, moderated the session where around 50 women poets recited their works.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Subadani said that Mahila Kavya Manch is a Women's Welfare Forum which has branches not only in Manipur but also in other parts of India and abroad.

She said that the monthly programme is not only about recitation of poems but also an opportunity to showcase the roles taken by women beyond household chores.
