NH-39 blockade at Yaiskul on Jan 24

Imphal, January 21 2009: Residents of the Yaiskul area in a meeting today has resolved to block a portion of the NH-39 from Moirangkohm Thumbuthong to MSRTC complex as a part of their agitation against government delay in the repairing works of the road connecting the highway with Keishamthong at Yaiskul.

The blockade will effect from 6 am of January 24 till 6 pm of the same day, the meeting organized by the social action against non-completion of repairing of road at Yaiskul police lane has resolved said in a press conference here today.

The spokesperson also revealed that the repairing work has been remaining suspended after there arose a controversy on the contract works between two contractors.
