Students' Front calls halting search ops

Imphal, February 20 2025:
Students' Front of Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has expressed concern that the continuous search operations, being conducted under the 'pretext' of containing the conflict, are unnecessarily traumatising students currently appearing for the Class X and XII examinations.
The Front has appealed to authorities concerned to put on hold such operations to alleviate the students' stress rather than aggravating it.
In a press meet held at AIMS' Kwakeithel office on Thursday, Front convenor Sukham Bidananda said that students are in an anxious state due to the ongoing examinations.

However, the continuous and erratic search operations are adding to unwanted stress and pressure on them.
He then urged authorities concerned to look into the matter and protect the interests of the students.
At the same time, the Front leader cautioned the elected leaders - who, he considered, are more interested in fighting the seat of power than in protecting the state and its territorial integrity from outsiders and the proxy war waged by the Indian government - that it would not be long before the people turn against them if the power struggle continues.
