Kayisii laid to rest, many including Conrad pay last respects

Imphal, January 20 2025:
Meghalaya chief minister and National People's Party (NPP) national president Conrad Sangma along with many leaders paid their last respects to N Kayisii at the deceased leader's ancestral home at Makhan Khuman village, Senapati district on Monday.
Sitting Tadubi MLA and NPP state unit president N Kayisii died on Saturday and his funeral ceremony was held Monday at MBC compound at Makhan Khuman village.
Apart from Conrad Sangma, the funeral ceremony was attended by many state leaders like Outer Manipur MP Alfred Arthur, former Meghalaya minister James Sangma, Tamenglong MLA Jamhenglung Pamei, Khsetrigao MLA Seikh Noorul Hassan, MLA Losii Dikho, former minister Francis Ngajokpa, former deputy speaker K Raina and former ADC Senapati chairman Kapani.

These dignitaries gave their condolence messages at the funeral service.
Many leaders of Naga apex bodies including the United Naga Council, Naga Women's Union, All Naga Students Association Manipur, different tribe bodies, women and student bodies also offered their condolences at the parting memorial service of N Kayisii.
In his condolence message, Conrad Sangma said the weight of pain was almost unbearable and no words seemed sufficient to express the deep sorrow and sense of loss he felt on the day N Kayisii (lied.
"Kayisii's demise is a huge loss for the NPP.
The late leader was firm in his thoughts and upheld the people's trust with utmost respect," Conrad Sangma eulogised the depar ted leader, adding that he was deeply moved by Kayisii's kindness, simplicity and most importantly his unwavering dedication to the people.
Offering his condolences, Mao MLA L Dikho stated that God answered the praye r of the people to give good leaders like N Kayisii.
The MLA also lauded Meghalaya CM for his concern for the people by coming all the way from Meghalaya to bid farewell to the deceased leader.
Outer Manipur MP Alfred Arthur, in his message, stated that NPP as well as people of the region lost a wise leader, remembering the late MLA a good brother, friend and a wise leader as an advisor.
Former ADC Senapati also said that the late MLA talked less but people saw his actions when he was alive.
"Not only for his assembly constituency but for the overall development of the district, Kayisii had rendered his services," Kapani stated, adding the late MLA never lied and did what he promised all the time.

Later, Mao Baptist Churches Association executive secretary Rev A Pfokrelo took up the committal rites.
Earlier, Conrad Sangma boarded a helicopter from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi international airport, Guwahati at 9.50 am and landed at the helipad of AR Maram post at 10.45 am.
Conrad Sangma moved directly to Kayisii's ancestral village from the helipad and took part in the condolence service.
He then boarded the same helicopter and departed for Shillong.
