AR hosts pipe band display at Kangla

Assam Rifles celebrated India's 80th Independence Day with a Pipe Band Display at Kangla Western Gate, Imphal West on Saturday.
As per a release issued by HQ IGAR(S), a 24-member Assam Rifles Pipe Band performed 15 patriotic compositions including 'Vande Mataram', 'Kadam Kadam Badhaye Ja', 'Ye Watan' and the National Anthem.
The programme began and ended with 'Vande Mataram' and the National Anthem, setting a solemn tone at the historic venue.
The event was attended by IG Assam Rifles (South), GOC 57 Division and DIG Sector Assam Rifles, along with over 1,050 spectators comprising students, parents, local residents, police personnel and traders from Ima Market.
As night fell, the crowd waved Tricolours and lit up the venue with mobile flashlights in sync with the music, creating a vibrant display of patriotism.
Officials said the performance showcased the Force's ceremonial traditions and discipline while fostering unity and national spirit among the people of Manipur.
