Indian Army to conduct multi-speciality medical camps for IDPs in Manipur

Imphal, March 17 2026: In a significant humanitarian initiative, the Red Shield Division of the Spear Corps of the Indian Army is set to organise Integrated Multi-Speciality Medical Camps across several locations in Manipur from March 19 to 21, 2026, aimed at addressing the healthcare needs of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and local residents.

According to a release issued by the Indian Army, the camps will be held at Leisang, Ningthoukhong, Moiphei Tampak, Sendra, Sawongbung and YKPI in collaboration with the Nasik Medical Practitioners Association under Operation Sadbhavana.

The initiative seeks to provide specialised medical consultations, health screenings, and essential medicines to displaced families and underserved communities with limited access to healthcare services.

A dedicated team of specialist doctors from various disciplines, including gynaecology, dermatology, orthopaedics, paediatrics, cardiology and ophthalmology, will offer professional consultations, diagnostic support and medical guidance.

The camps will also feature routine health check-ups, distribution of essential medicines and counselling services for patients requiring further medical attention.

The initiative is expected to benefit a large number of people, particularly IDPs residing in affected areas.
