Civic action programme organised

Kangpokpi, September 15 2026:
Under the aegis of the IG, Manipur & Nagaland Sector, the 158 Battalion CRPF organized a civic action programme at C/158 Khonsakhul and Leilon Vaiphei Village, under Leimakhong, Police Station in Kangpokpi district September 14 .
To foster self-reliance and create sustainable earning opportunities for local villagers, 158 Battalion CRPF distributed poultry birds such as chicken and ducklings for small-scale farming and training in this regard was also imparted to them, said a press note by the CRPF.
Besides this, water storage tanks were also distributed to them for strengthening village water security.
In addition, essential agricultural tools were also handed over to the villagers to boost crop productivity.
The primary objective of the initiative is to extend practical support to rural communities, promote self-reliance.
Addressing the gathering, Commandant 158 Bn CRPF reiterated their commitment to not only maintaining security and social harmony but also contributing to long-term community development and economic empowerment for better relation between community and the force.
The programme witnessed active and enthusiastic participation from local villagers, including women, youth, and children.
The community expressed appreciation and gratitude to the CRPF for organizing the welfare-driven drive and providing resources that directly support sustainable livelihood, added the release.
