RPI Youth Manipur State calls for release of kidnapped children, women

Outraged by the abduction of 6 women and children by Kuki militants, the RPI Youth Manipur State has called on the Government to act swiftly and rescue the hostages.
Addressing a press conference today at Manipur Press Club, RPI Youth Manipur State president Meiraba Heisnam strongly condemned the abduction of women and children and asserted that such actions are in violation of National and international humanitarian laws.
He asserted that the State and Central Government should take immediate action for safe release of the 3 women and 3 minors, abducted by Kuki militants from Jiribam on November 11 .
He also highlighted the ineptitude of the Central Government and its agencies that have failed to secure the safe release of the 6 civilians even as they have been held hostage for three consecutive days now.
Meiraba continued that if the State and Central Government are unable to rescue the 6 hostages within 24 hours, all the MLAs and Ministers supporting the Government should submit their resignation.
He also asserted that the MLAs of the Opposition Parties should stop watching from the sidelines and take necessary action to save the 6 women & children.
He appealed to all the elected leaders, regardless of political affiliation, to fulfil their duty and act swiftly to rescue the hostages.
Furthermore, Meiraba said that RPI Manipur State will do everything possible to protect the territorial integrity of Manipur and pressure the Central Government for safe release of the 6 hostages.
