Ukhrul, September 14 2026: To foster mutual trust and enhance civil-military cooperation, Assam Rifles Shangshak Battalion organised a village interaction programme at Shangshak Khunao village community hall today.

The programme brought together senior Assam Rifles personnel and troops, alongside the Village Headman, Pastor, Women President, Youth President, Chairman of the Village Council and nearly 150 villagers, said a press release by the Assam Rifles.

The interaction provided a meaningful platform for dialogue, enabling the community to share concerns and explore avenues for cooperation.

Discussions focused on the need for pre- recruitment training to support local youths aspiring to join the Armed Forces and other uniformed services.

Emphasis was placed on physical fitness, discipline, educational preparation and awareness of recruitment procedures.

Assam Rifles personnel also informed the gathering about medical facilities available through the Battalion and assured timely assistance in emergencies, said the release.
