Tiranga Yatra held in Thoubal, Jiribam

In connection with Tiranga Yatra' as a part of Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, a pledge-taking ceremony led by Thoubal deputy commissioner Ahanthem Subash, was held on Wednesday.
Organised by the district administration, the 'Tiranga Yatra' commenced from Thoubal Mini Secretariat complex and ended at the flag-off point after cross Arong Thong.
Thoubal district police also organised a bike rally from Khongjom Kheba Ching till the SP's office after the U-turn from Lilong Usoipokpi.
The event was attended by SP Rakesh Balwan, ADM B Lokesor Sharma, additional SP (Law & Order) N Suraj, additional SP (Operations) Devendro, B/216 CRPF Company commander DS Negi, and Thoubal ZEO Anil Kumar.
Meanwhile, in a display of patriotic fervour, Jiribam district administration organised 'Tiranga Yatra' mini marathon as part of the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign.
The event was flagged off by Jiribam deputy commissioner Krishna Kumar from the Irabot statue point.
'Tiranga' pledge was also taken during the event participated by students from different schools.
Jiribam senior superintendent of police M Pradip, additional deputy commissioner Th Manoranjan Singh and other district level officers (DLOs) turned up to cheer the young runners and demonstrate support for the initiative.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Krishna Kumar highlighted that the district administration has been actively carrying out 'Har Ghar Tiranga' and 'Nasha Mukt' campaigns as part of the 78th Independence Day celebrations since August 9.The district administration has also organised tree plantation programme themed 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' (A Tree in the Name of Mother) launched on World Environment Day.
The deputy commissioner appealed to the Jiribam denizens to hoist the tricolour at their homes, emphasising that it is a matter of pride and honour for every individual as well as a symbol of national unity.
On the other hand, a full-dress rehearsal for the 78th Independence Day was held at the Jiribam Higher Secondary School playground with participation of contingents of 87th Bn CRPF, 7th Bn IRB and Jiribam district police.
