Assam Rifles conducts blood donation drive, youth outreach programmes

Kakching/CCpur, June 13 2026: Reinforcing its commitment to humanitarian service, youth empowerment and civil-military cooperation, Assam Rifles conducted a series of community outreach programmes across Kakching and Churachandpur districts, including a voluntary blood donation camp, career guidance sessions and weapon display programmes.

According to IGAR (South), the outreach commenced on June 12 at the Sangai Auditorium, Pallel Garrison in Kakching district, where a voluntary blood donation camp was organised in collaboration with civil and military medical specialists.

Commemorating World Blood Donor Day under the theme "One Drop of Humanity, Give Blood, Save Lives", the camp saw an enthusiastic response, with a combined total of approximately 190 personnel and civilians voluntarily donating blood Dr S Hemabati Devi, Senior Medical Officer from Shija Hospital, Langol, attended the event and recorded an awareness podcast at the local Community Radio Station, scheduled to broadcast on June 14 via the Radio Highway App.

Simultaneously, the Pallel Garrison hosted a structured weapon display programme for around 80 aspiring defence candidates of the Guardian Defence Academy.

Sustaining this momentum of youth mentorship into the next day, the Assam Rifles organised a comprehensive career guidance session and weapon display on June 13 for the cadets of the 65th NCC Girls Battalion at Churachandpur.

During the interactive session, the senior officials provided 54 participating girl cadets with vital insights into entry schemes, selection processes and life in uniform.

The weapon display also offered participants a closer understanding of military preparedness, while encouraging values of discipline, leadership and patriotism.

According to Assam Rifles, the combined initiatives reflect its peoplecentric approach and sustained efforts to inspire the youth of the region to contribute positively towards nation-building and national development.
