Imphal, April 13 2026:
The Manipur Home Guard Employees Welfare Association (MHGEWA) has announced the deferment of its Special General Body Meeting, originally scheduled for April 19, 2026, at the Gandhi Memorial Hall in Imphal.
The decision was made due to the current unstable situation within the State.
As per a release issued by MHGEWA, the meeting was intended to address several long-pending demands and welfare measures for Home Guard personnel.
Key agenda points included implementing Manipur High Court directives, framing promotion guidelines and a seniority list, appointing a separate Commandant General, and pressing for welfare measures like increased Duty Allowance/Pay (from 14% DA to 42% DA, matching police constables), Ration Money, and other benefits for Home Guard personnel.
The Association apologised for the postponement and urged members to stay positive, assuring a rescheduled meeting when the State's situation improves.
