Monolith of NSCN/CRPN Kilonser Ngaranmi erected

Monolith erection ceremony in honour of late Col (Retd) AS Ngaranmi, former Kilonser of NSCN/GPRN, was held at Ayotang, Ringui village in Ukhrul district on Monday.
The ceremony was attended by a host of dignitaries including Naga national workers, representatives from Naga civil organisations like United Naga Council (UNC), All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM), Naga Women's Union (NWU), Tangkhul Naga Long, Tangkhul Shanao Long, Tangkhul Mayar Nga-la Long, Zingtun Katamnao Long, Tangkhul Wungva Long.
Headmen from neighbouring villages, village elders and leaders from different social and religious organisations also attended the event held with Gen Ningkhan Shimray of Naga Army as chief guest, Maj Gen (Retd) RVS Shangam of GPRN as guest of honour and Maj Gen (Retd) RS Chinaoyo of NSCN, GPRN as special guest.
The event was marked by the historic and maiden visit of Gen Ningkhan Shimray at Ringui village and unveiling of the memorial monolith of AS Ngaranmi that stands as a testament of the recommitment to the struggle for Naga freedom.
Ringui village holds importance in the history of Naga struggle for freedom as the infamous Shillong Accord 1975 was condemned officially for the first time by the Wung Tangkhul Region at Ringui Hongrei forest under the chairmanship of Maj (Retd) AS Ngathingkhui and RH Raising.
During the ceremony, Ng Thangmeiso and Khamsui team enlightened the gathering with their captivating performances of folk tune and country music.
