AR pipe band to perform patriotic displays in Imphal for 80th Independence Day

Imphal, August 10 2026: As part of the 80th Independence Day celebrations, Assam Rifles will organise a series of patriotic musical performances titled Pipe Band Displays at prominent locations in Imphal West.

The initiative aims to invoke national pride and unity.

An elite team of the Assam Rifles Pipe Band will present a rich repertoire of 15 distinct musical compositions during each session.

According to Assam Rifles, the first display will be held at Kangla West Gate on August 11 from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm, followed by a performance at Manipur University on August 12 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.

The grand finale is scheduled on Independence Day, August 15, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Kangla West Gate.

The special performances will showcase the discipline, musical excellence and ceremonial traditions of the force while adding patriotic fervour to the national celebrations.

By performing at historic and academic landmarks, Assam Rifles seeks to engage meaningfully with the local community, especially youth, through music and strengthen public bonds and national integration.

The force has invited the public, students and media to attend.
