Imphal, August 08 2026: Several organisations in the State have condoled recent demises and expressed solidarity with bereaved families.

Meetei Erol Eyek Loinasillol Apunba Lup (MEELAL), Kangleipak has deeply condoled the untimely demise of Bijoy Kabrabam, popularly known as BK, of Nongmeibung Chakpram Leirak, Ayangpalli Road.

BK, former president of ISTV and presently working as news producer, passed away at his residence on August 7, due to illness.

MEELAL said he worked tirelessly day and night for the promotion of Meetei Mayek and the cause of the people.

The Regional Indigenous Forum for Peaceful Coexistence (RIFPCO), Manipur on Friday held a condolence meeting for Yumnam Nodiyachand Singh, 75, former Government teacher and Headmaster from Silchar, Cachar, Assam.

He was president of Meetei Pukei Lup, Assam and general secretary of Athouba Ningsing Lup, Cachar.

He played a key role in mobilizing support from Manipuris in Cachar, Hailakandi and Karimganj districts for relief efforts for IDPs in Manipur.

The Universal Friendship Organisation (UFO) on Friday paid tribute to Keisham Birjit, a member of Meitei Huyen Langlon Sintam Shanglen (Satjal Academy), Salungpham Branch under UFO Eastern Headquarters No 1 Nongpok Sekmai Battalion, who passed away recently.

UFO members observed a two-minute silence and offered a salute in his honor.
