Thadou-Meetei talks sign of peace restoration: Joykisan

Thangmeiband MLA Kh Joykisan on Thursday said that the recent meeting between the Thadou community and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) of the Meetei community is a positive step towards restoring peace in Manipur.
He stated that the dialogue is part of the peace initiative undertaken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, demonstrating Centre's commitment to resolving the ongoing crisis in the state.
Speaking at a relief material distribution programme organised by Junior Chamber International (JCI) Imphal Iconics at the relief camp opened by TAKDO at Khoyathong, the MLA also welcomed the recent statement by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in support of restoring peace in Manipur, saying it clearly shows the BJP's concern for the state and its people.

Addressing the challenges faced by Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), Joykisan expressed concern over their difficult living conditions and assured that the government is making efforts to facilitate their safe return to their homes.
During the programme, JCI Imphal Iconics provided essential relief materials to IDPs taking shelter at the Khoyathong relief camp.
The relief items included clothes, bathing essentials, innerwear, sanitary items for girls, and other toiletries, with a focus on children up to Class X .
MLA Joykisan lauded JCI Imphal Iconics for their continued support, noting that the organisation has, on multiple occasions, extended relief to IDPs in various camps across the state.
He described their contribution as commendable and deeply appreciable.
