AMUCO cautions public on divisive elements

All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) has charged the Central government of continuously scheming to create divisions among the ethnic groups in state and called upon the people to remain alert and protect the state from divisive elements.
Interacting with the media on the sidelines of visiting relief camps here on Saturday, AMUCO general secretary Pratap Leishangthem said that a joint team of AMUCO, Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur, All Manipur Women's Voluntary Association (AMAWOVA), All Manipur Meitei Pangal Clubs' Organisation, All Jiribam United Clubs' Association, Apunba Jiribam Meira Paibi, and AMAWOVA, Jiribam branch visited the relief camps and donated cash and medicines to the displaced people putting up in different relief camps.
While urging the people to contact AJUCA in case they need anything, Pratap cautioned all concerned that as the central government has been undermining the state and using divisive policies to balkanise Manipur the masses should remain united and contribute their mite in exploring effective means to neutralise threat from divisive elements.
Decrying the chief minister's frequent assertion of peace returning to state, he said that AMUCO considers the CM's remarks as a political statement as the people are fully aware that peace remains elusive in the state.
Pointing out shortage of medical facilities in border district, he also drew attention of the CM to upgrade the hospital in Jiribam to a district hospital and make functional the facilities of blood bank, oxygen plant and operation theatres, especially during the crisis period.
