CCpur, September 03 2024:
Indigenous Tribal Leaders' Forum (ITLF) and Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) general headquarters have categorically refuted Republic TV anchor Arnab Goswami's claim on drone bombings in Manipur.
While ITLF termed Goswami's observations as devoid of real intelligence fact, in terms of data, and imprecise, KSO said that the TV anchor's claim lacks substantial evidence and hence made out of fantasy.
According to a statement of ITLF, the present Kuki-Zomi conflict with the Meeteis has nothing to do with Myanmar, the US or China and it is purely ethnic cleansing pogrom by the Meetei against the Kuki-Zo people.
If Arnab's claim about foreign involvement holds true, the Kuki-Zo would have demanded something deserving of international intervention.
However, the Kuki-Zo people are seeking separate administration in the form of Union Territory under the provisions of Indian Constitution.
On the other hand, a KSO statement urged the media to uphold truth and objectivity in reporting about Manipur.
It said that utilisation of drone bomb by the Meeteis against the Kuki has been widely known but nobody pays heed until allegation of the same was made by the Meeteis in the light of recent incident.
Almost every media outlet pops up with various so-called experts with bias opinions blaming the Kukis with all unfounded reasoning without giving truth.
According to the KSO, Arnab Goswami's claim of 30 aerial bombings lack substantial evidence and made out of fantasy.
The absolute truth is that drones were used to bomb Kuki areas but fortunately the Kuki village volunteers patrolling in buffer-zone areas shot down the drones of the Meeteis flying in the air space of Kuki hills and were handed over to security agencies.
KSO also refuted the allegation that KNF cadres received 'drone attack training' in Myanmar.
