Meet on 'Indigenous Rights, Disability Inclusion' held

Imphal, July 03 2026: The Centre for Rights, Advocacy, Manipur and All Tribal Disables Union, Manipur jointly organised a one-day consultation programme on "Rights of Indigenous People and Inclusion of Persons with Disability in Environment Changes" at Manipur Press Club today.

Speaking on the occasion, All Tribal Disables Union general secretary Chuongsin Koireng said the main objective is to address gaps in current climate and environment policy discussions.

While the Government and stakeholders conduct dialogues, planning, and programmes on climate change, the specific needs and requirements of indigenous persons with disabilities remain largely unaddressed, he said.

He asserted that the consultation aims to discuss their issues, challenges, and ways to bring future change.
