Nimita Devi Nritya Ashram celebrates 19th Foundation Day

Imphal, August 02 2026: Nimita Devi Nritya Ashram (NDNA), a grantee organisation of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India,observedits 19th Foundation Day at Shri Shri Bijoygovinda Mandap, Sagolband on Sunday.

Eminent literary critic L Memo Singh attended as chief guest.

Budha Chingtham, Member, Board of Governors, IZCC, Ministry of Culture, Government of India; and G Dharmadas Sharma, Joint Director, Department of Art and Culture, Manipur, attended as guests of honour.

Kangjam Radhakumar, president of NDNA, presided over the function.

Speaking on the occasion, L Memo prayed that the Ashram may continue to grow in its cultural work.

He noted that the Ashram plays a major role in preserving and promoting Manipur's age-old traditions, arts and culture for future generations.

He lauded the artists for showcasing classical dance and music beautifully, and urged them to continue contributing to the cultural field.

As part of the event, performances of Chali, Hari Riha, Pung Cholom and Maha Ras were presented before the audience.
