Better public service, outreach assured to Kwatha locals

Tengnoupal district administration organised a comprehensive service delivery camp at the Moreh SDO office, aimed at providing essential government services directly to the public.
The camp was held under the supervision of Tengnoupal DC, ADC, SDOs, and DLOs from various line departments.
The DC and officials also visited Kwatha village and assured the residents of enhanced public services and outreach to the border village.
During the camp, on-the-spot services were provided to denizens, including the issuance of health cards and certificates.
Items distributed included seeds and fertilisers by Agriculture department, plant saplings by Forest department, and horticultural saplings by Horticulture department.
Veterinary department, led Tengnoupal deputy director by Dr Julie conducted free rabies vaccinations for pet animals.
Following the camp, an interaction meeting was held between local MLA Letpao Haokip and the DLOs, in the presence of DC, SP, ADC, SDOs, and SDCs during which the MLA encouraged all departments to dedicate themselves to the district's holistic development and lauded the administration's ongoing efforts to deliver services under challenging circumstances.
On the occasion, the DC announced that beginning next week, every Tuesday will be observed as service delivery day, with all line departments operating from the district headquarters to provide regular and essential services to the public.
Another session was held with representatives of local CSOs from various Moreh communities, addressing pressing public concerns, including water shortages, Aadhaar enrolment, rice distribution, compensation for ethnic clash victims, and other local grievances.
The DC assured the community of prompt follow-up with relevant authorities, while the MLA pledged his full support to bring positive change to the region.
As part of an extensive outreach effort, the DC, accompanied by ADC, SDOs, SDCs, and CMO, also visited Kwatha village, the only Meetei village in the hill area.
The team engaged directly with residents to understand their challenges related to livelihood, education, healthcare, and medical access.
Acknowledging their hardships, the DC pledged sustained support for the community and made a personal commitment.
"Kwatha is not just another village on our map; from today, I will look after it as if it is my own home.
Every concern raised here will be taken up Seriously with the relevant authorities," the DC said, and assured to work tirelessly to ensure sustainable livelihoods for the villagers.
