Centre working to restore peace in Manipur: Union MoS

Union minister of state for CAF & PD Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya arrived here on a two-day state visit on Thursday and made spot inspection of schemes and projects taken up in different areas of Bishnupur district under the Centre's funding.
The visiting Union minister was accorded a warm welcome at Imphal airport by CAF & PD minister L Susindro after which Jayantibhai proceeded to Moirang and Loktak lake.
The Union MoS inspected projects taken up in Bishnupur district with Central government funding.
She inspected the community pond at Naranseina Mamang Leikai, which was renovated with the funding from MGNREGS, Ayushman Arogya Mandir (Health and Wellness Centre) at Phubala, Bishnupur Cluster Development Programme at Ningthoukhong and houses constructed under PMAYG at Kha Potshangbam.
CAF & PD minister L Susindro, Moirang MLA Th Shanti and Bishnupur deputy commissioner L Bikram accompanied the Union MoS minister during the visit.
Later, Union minister Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya chaired a review meeting of Central projects at the Bishnupur DC's office.
Nimuben Jayantibhai told media person after the review meeting that the Centre takes the crisis in Manipur very seriously and is working at the best level to restore peace and normalcy.
She also said that everyone must contribute towards realisation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's goal to accelerate development of the North Eastern states along with underscoring that the government under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi is committed to the ideals of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas'.
She further said that the government is working to ensure basic necessities of all citizens through various flagship programmes and schemes with priority on holistic welfare of the poor and marginalised sections of society.
Jayantibhai also told media persons after inspecting the community pond at Naranseina that various development works under the initiative of PM Modi are being taken up across the country and that projects under Amrit Sarovar Mission are meant for providing clean drinking water to people.
