BJP Mandal asks Saratchandra to clarify within a week

Imphal, August 29 2021: BJP Heingang Mandal vice president Irom Ibotomba has strongly condemned the remark of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) general secretary P Saratchandra, who alleged through media that chief minister's workers collected money from many people of Heingang AC in the name of providing job.

P Saratchandra had also offered to declare names of workers who collected money if the chief minister gives assurance of resigning if his workers happen to collect money.

Regarding the media remark of MPCC general secretary, BJP Heingang Mandal held a press conference at Heingang in the presence of members of booth level committee of 2/26 Heingang Makha Leikai polling station.

Strongly condemning Saratchandra's remark and taking it seriously, Ibotomba said that there around 20-30,000 people in Heingang AC who trust and love chief minister N Biren.

People of Heingang showcased their support and love to chief minister N Biren by giving more than 20,000 votes to the BJP candidate in the last Lok Sabha election.

P Saratchandra had repeatedly charged chief minister N Biren in the past and it is condemnable that he tried to project CM's workers in poor light and as corrupt, Ibotomba said, adding that if there happens to be any worker of CM taking money, they should get punishment accordingly.

Saratchandra could have sought help of law court if his charges were genuine but it was unfortunate that he repeatedly tried to defame a public leader with unfounded charges, Ibotomba said.

According to Ibotomba, Saratchandra had made the same remark during a discussion in a local television channel during which BJP spokesperson Ch Bijoy had asked him to fight bravely through media.

Asking Saratchandra to clarify on his unfounded charge against CM within a week, Ibotomba said that local organisations and Meira Paibi groups of 2/26 polling station of Heingang Makha Leikai will impose ban on entry of the MPCC leader if he fails to clarify within the stipulated time.
