Applications invited for Guru Shishya Parampara Scheme 2026-27

Imphal, June 29 2026: The Directorate of Art and Culture, Manipur, has invited applications from artistes for the Guru Shishya Parampara Scheme 2026-2027 to preserve traditional artforms of the region.

According to a press release issued by the Directorate, artistes aged 45 to 70 years as on March 31, 2026, practising Folk/Tribal Music, Dance, Theatre, Wood Craft, Bamboo and Cane Craft, Mask Making, and other disciplines are eligible.

Special emphasis is on dying and vanishing artforms.

Selected Gurus will train four Shishyas aged 15-25 years and appoint one Assistant for a year.

The monthly honorarium is Rs 7,500 for the Guru, Rs 3,750 for the Accompanist/Assistant, and Rs 1,500 for each Shishya.

Applicants must submit the prescribed form with biodata, testimonials, age proof, and syllabus to the Director, Art & Culture, Palace Compound, Imphal, by 4 pm on August 4, 2026.Forms are available at "www.nezccindia.org.in", "www.artnculturemanipur.gov.in', or from the Directorate office during working hours.
