RPF offers revolutionary salute to slain trio

Apart from offering revolutionary salute and condolences to 'major' Gulu of its armed wing - People's Liberation Army (PLA) as well as 'captain' Sopaiba and 'lance corporal' Nongdon of PREPAK (Pro), the proscribed Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) and PLA shared pain and grief of the bereaved families, friends and well-wishers of the slain revolutionaries.
According to an RPF statement, 'major' Gulu laid down his life in a battle for regaining the lost sovereignty of the people of Manipur along with 'captain' Sopaiba and 'L/corporal' Nongdon on October 23.The statement issued by RPF assistant publicity secretary Bangkim, informed that Gulu was conferred rank of 'major' posthumously in honour of his courage and dedication for the cause of the people.
'Major' Gulu alias Oinam Babu, born to Oinam Kunjo Meetei and Pishak Leima of Kadamtala, Jiribam was the third among five siblings.
He joined RPF/PLA on June 29, 2003, completed basic military training and accordingly was allotted Army No A-2570 by party's war office on January 31, 2004.At the time of joining RPF/PLA, Gulu affirmed unconditional loyalty to the 'motherland' and worked with dedication and sincerity in every department/unit of the party he was assigned, the RPF statement said, remembering 'Major' Gulu as a calm and discipline revolutionary.
