Children's meet of child care institutes organised

Kakching, June 26 2025:
Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Kakching and District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Kakching on Wednesday jointly organised a children's meet of child care institutes (children homes) of the district at Kakching Garden, Kakching Uyok Ching, along with launching of 'One Child One Plant' initiative.
The programme was attended by Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR) chairperson Keisham Pradipkumar as chief guest and Kakching deputy commissioner Rohit Anand as president, while CWC, Kakching chairperson Naorem Kumari Devi and Kakching district child protection officer Gajoo Rajkumari were guests of honour.
Children from BDS Children Home for Girls & Morning Star Children Home for Boys, Keirak; HRRUO Open Shelter Home for Boys, Kakching Irum Mapal; Kulla and Ibellei Girls Children Home, Pallel and HFAO Thambal Children Home for Girls, Arong Khunou participated in the meet.
During the event, MCPCR chairperson K Pradipkumar announced the launch of 'One Child One Plant' initiative along with distributing planters to the five child care institutes, which were sponsored by Kakching DC Rohit Anand, AC to DC Okram Sandhyarani, additional SP (LO) Athokpam Romendro and Social Welfare Department Integrated Child Protection Scheme programme officer Sandhyarani Mangshatabam.
As part of the function, meritorious students of child care institutes, who successfully cleared the High School Leaving Certificate Examination 2025, were felicitated along with distribution of prizes to winners of painting competition on the theme 'Ending Plastic Pollution' held on June 5 .
