'Lions Service Week Environment' concludes

The week-long "Lions Service Week Environment 2026", organised by the Lions International District 322D, Manipur Region, concluded today at the Marjing Polo Complex in Imphal East district.
Held under the theme "One Multiple One Activity", the closing ceremony was attended by several notable figures, including Vikram Nadhe, DFO, Central Forest Division; Th Kesho Singh, IPDG; Th Mahendra Pratap Singh, district chairperson (environment); Dr N Romi Singh, VDG elect; Dr P Rajmani Singh, district coordinator (GST); M Jovid, Range Officer, Sadar East; and environmentalist M Inaobi Singh.
During the event, participants took a solemn pledge to protect and preserve the environment.
As part of the initiative, a large-scale tree plantation drive was carried out at the Heingang Reserved Forest.
Lions members, Central Forest Division officials, Joint'Forest Committee Heingang and local residents actively participated in the drive.
Speaking at the event, Th Mahendra Pratap Singh said the week-long drive aims to preserve the earth's natural beauty and combat global warming and environmental disasters linked to population growth.
He added that such global initiatives are meant to protect the planet and ensure a healthier environment for future generations.
