DEO issues show cause notice to absentees

Imphal, January 25 2022: Recalling that presiding officers/ polling officers were instructed to attend the training programme in preparation for the upcoming assembly election at Tamenglong DHQ from January 19 to 22, District Election Officer (DEO) Tamenglong Hungyo Worshang has issued show cause notices to all those officers who were absent in the first round training programme.

In all, 149 officers including 35 presiding officers, 32 polling officers-I, 42 polling officers-II and 40 polling officers-III of various departments were absent in the first round training programme.

In the show cause notices, the DEO asked the absentee officers to give their explanation in writing on why disciplinary action should not be initiated against them on or before January 29 to the DEO, Tamenglong office.

Those who fail will be assumed that they have nothing to say on the matter and action will be taken ex-parte according to the relevant rules, the DEO cautioned.
