Lions Club holds tree plantation drive

Imphal, August 22 2026:
The Lions Club of Imphal City, in association with Sadar West Range, Central Forest Division, Government of Manipur, organised an Environment Awareness Programme and planted around 150 tree saplings at Langol Reserved Forest, Lamdeng.
A Poireiton Park was also inaugurated.
The awareness programme, held at Pioneer Club, Lamdeng, was participated by members of the club, Lions Club members and Forest Department staff.
Range Officer Yumnam Chiranjit Singh and former Chief Conservator of Forest Thiyam Mahendrapratap Singh spoke as resource persons.
Guest of honour, Pioneer Club Lamdeng president Khwairakpam Lokendra assured that the newly planted saplings will be nurtured and protected along with the club members.
Lions Club of Imphal City president Kangjam Chaoba Singh appealed to the youths of today to take a bigger role in protecting the environment.
