Shiv Sena to urge party MPs on state issues

Imphal, July 19 2025: Shiv Sena Manipur unit president M Tombi has said that a four-point memorandum on issues concerning people of Manipur will be submitted to party MPs for raising the issues during the upcoming Monsoon session of the Parliament commencing from July 21.Addressing media persons at Shiv Sena Manipur unit office at Babupara Saturday, M Tombi said he would visit New Delhi soon to submit a memorandum to party MPs.

He elaborated that key points mentioned in the memorandum include formation of a popular government at the earliest, restoration of free movement along national highways as promised by Union Home minister Amit Shah, opposition to delimitation exercise based on bogus census of 2011 and conduct of census in respect of Manipur only after detection of illegal immigrants with the establishment of Manipur Population Commission and Land Delimitation.

"Shiv Sena MPs will be urged to put up the Issues before the Parliament preferably during Zero hour," he said.

According to M Tombi, a delegation of Shiv Sena and National Democratic Alliance met some Union ministers sometimes back.

"The central leaders expressed their willingness to form a popular government in Manipur as per the wishes of the people," he related, pointing to high possibility of installing a new government by the first week of August.

"It was a demand of the Congress party to impose President's Rule in Manipur but the party is now joining the people in raising the voice for restoration of a popular government," M Tombi remarked.
