Appeal against bandhs, blockades on Aug 26-27

In connection with the 125th Birth Anniversary of Laininghal Naoriya Phulo, who had played a great role in the upliftment of the culture, tradition, religion and scripts of the Manipuris, which is to be observed on August 26 and 27, the Laininghal Naoriya Phulo Charitable Trust has appealed to all concerned not to call bandhs and blockades on these days.
Addressing media persons in this regard at SDJM School at Kangabam Leikai here today, Ningthoukhongjam Chaoba, Managing Director of Laininghal Naoriya Phulo Charitable Trust, stated that Laininghal Naoriya Phulo established Apokpa Marup around 88 years back to protect and promote the culture, tradition, religion and script of the Manipuri people.
His followers have been following his footsteps till today keeping alive Apokpa Marup to his satisfaction.
In remembrance of Naoriyo Phulo, the Laininghal Naoriya Phulo Charitable Trust will be observing his 125th birth anniversary for two consecutive days on 26 and 27 of August.
during which a poetry recitation competition for school children will be held.
The competition will be based on the poems written by Naoriya Phulo.
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd position holder in the competition will be awarded cash prizes of Rs 3000, Rs 2500 and Rs 2000 respectively and consolation prizes of Rs 300 each will also be given to 10 students.
So, all concerned are requested not to call bandhs or blockades during these two days, he appealed.
