Thoubal, April 18 2026: The Like-Minded Group (LMG), Manipur has handed over essential food items to the family of Late Oinam Chanuthoi (8), the victim of a brutal murder perpetrated by one Laishram Langamba.

According to a press release, the displaced family had fled Moreh due to the Manipur crisis and sought shelter at Akampat Relief Camp from May 11, 2023 onwards.

A two-minute silence was also observed and prayers were offered for the deceased innocent soul to rest in peace.

Notable members of LMG who took part in the relief initiative include general secretary Ojit Sorokhaibam, publicity secretary Rakesh Naorem, treasurer Kunjeshwar Mangsatabam and assistant secretary Surendra Ningomba among others.

It is worth noting that the minor girl's father Oinam Basanta (46) is a driver, while her mother Oinam ongbi Ichal (35) grabs any daily wage job she can find.

Out of five children (two boys, three girls), Chanuthoi was the fourth.
