SCERT curriculum for state, soon: Director

State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) will soon release a curriculum framework suited to the state under the guidelines of National Curriculum Framework for Fundamental Stage (NCFFS) 2022, said SCERT director A Romel Singh.
He made the announcement at the inauguration of a five-day workshop on "Revision/Finalisation Draft State Curriculum for Foundational Stage and Curriculum Development of Six Months Certificate Course in ECCE/Pre-School Education in Conformity with the NCF-FS, 2022" organised jointly by SCERT Manipur and Azim Premji University, Bangalore on Wednesday.
In his speech, A Romel informed that as the workshop is now at its final drafting stage, a curriculum framework suited to the state will be released.
He mentioned that resource persons and subject experts from Manipur University, DM University, DM College of Teacher Education, SCERT, and Azim Premji University are shouldering the 'responsibility' and preparations will soon be initiated for publishing textbooks based on this curriculum.
According to Romel, the state curriculum will ensure students are able to study in their mother tongue with textbooks based on local contents, thereby providing value addition.
"Furthermore, SCERT is trying to produce a dictionary on the 18 different languages spoken in the state," he added.
