Meira paibis condemn Umathel incident

Kakching, August 16 2024: Meira Paibis of Umathel have condemned the assault and looting of a truck driver and his assistant by unidentified miscreants at Leingangching Lamkhai in Kakching district and demanded an immediate explanation by the perpetrators.

Addressing the media at Umathel on Friday, Meira Paibi leader M Ibechoubi denounced atrocities committed against the truck operators on August 13, calling it an attempt to tarnish the image of Umathel.

She emphasised that such acts should not be repeated by any individual or organisation in the future.

Ibechoubi also noted that had the driver and his handyman informed the Meira Paibis in time, the incident could have been averted and the miscreants apprehended.

Since the driver and his handyman reported the incident to the media instead, Meira Paibis were unaware until very late.

As such, she urged everyone to promptly report any such incidents to the Meira Paibis.
