71st All India Cooperative Week celebration begins

The 71st All India Cooperative Week was inaugurated on Thursday at Manipur State Cooperative Union Complex in Lamphelpat, with the theme "Role of Cooperatives in Building ViksitBharat" .
The event jointly organised by Institute of Cooperative Management (ICM), Imphal, Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Government of Manipur and Manipur State Cooperative Union, Lamphelpat, marks the beginning of a week-long series of programmes dedicated to promoting the cooperative movement.
The inaugural function was graced by Manipur State Cooperative Union, president, L Tompishak Singh; Lamsang AC MLA and State Planning Authority, Deputy Chairman, S Rajen Singh; Cooperative Societies, Manipur, Registrar, Arambam Valentina; ICM Imphal, Director, Khoichung Rangamlian Aimol and ICM Imphal, retired Director, Dr N Ranjana Devi as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, S Rajen discussed the core values & principles of the cooperative movement, emphasizing the importance of unity and collaboration for economic development.
He also appealed to all the cooperative societies and stakeholders to strengthen the cooperative movement in Manipur for inclusive and sustainable development.
L Tompishak said that National Cooperative Week is celebrated every year from November 14 to 20, to highlight the contribution of cooperatives to the economy of the Nation.
